There are a number of mechanisms used to create the look of the elegant RAW stoneware. The glaze on the stoneware does not consist of a homogeneous, uniform colour, but varies in color and texture due to the chemical process in the kiln.

Here, the glaze develops differently from part to part, and therefore the frame varies in color saturation, crystallization and layering. This technique is highly valued by many potters. The many variations in color and texture make each piece unique and give the frame the handmade look.

• If you follow basic precautions, stoneware and porcelain from RAW can withstand being put in the dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer.

• Never put ordinary stoneware and porcelain in a preheated oven.

• Avoid placing hot stoneware and porcelain directly on a cold table top.

• Large temperature differences can cause porcelain and stoneware to crack and break.
