This printer is intended to work only with cartridges that have new or remanufactured electronic circuits from HP, and it uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges with modified circuits or non-HP circuits. Regular firmware updates maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. HP recycled electronic circuits enable the use of recycled, remanufactured and refilled ink cartridges.
