Narciso Rodriguez is an American fashion designer born in Newark, New Jersey in 1961, from Cuban parents of Canarian origin.
After graduating in 1982, he worked as a freelance designer before beginning work at the Anne Klein label in 1985. In 1991, he joined Calvin Klein, specializing in coats and furs. In 1995, he took the position of design director at both TSE in New York and Cerruti in Paris. He designed Carolyn Bessette's wedding dress at Cerruti in 1996, his first high-profile work, but left the agency the next year.Rodriguez joined Loewe in 1997 as a women's ready-to-wear designer, and also began his own line of clothing the same year.
In 2001, Rodriguez left his position at Loewe to focus on his own collection, and also begins work on a line of fragrences.
